Oberlin Girls Finish 3rd Overall at OHSAA Division V State Championships

The Oberlin girls track and field team turned in another outstanding performance at the OHSAA Division V State Championships, finishing 3rd overall in Ohio with 38 team points while bringing home two state championships, a school record, and multiple All-Ohio honors during an unforgettable weekend in Columbus.
?? Alyssa Webb Earns State Runner-Up Honors in the 100 Meters
Senior Alyssa Webb capped her outstanding career with a runner-up finish in the 100-meter dash, placing second in the state with a time of 12.66 and earning eight team points for the Phoenix.
?? Olivia Hudson Finishes Third in the 400 Meters
Senior Olivia Hudson earned a spot on the podium in the 400-meter dash, finishing third in 56.67 and scoring six points for Oberlin in one of the meet's most competitive races.
200-Meter All-Ohio Finish
Hudson also qualified for the state finals in the 200-meter dash, where she placed 6th overall in Ohio with a time of 25.92, adding three more points to the team's total and securing another All-Ohio honor.
?? 4x100 Meter Relay State Champions and School Record Holders
The quartet of De'Shyana Freeman, Cayman Noble, Aubrey Abeyta, and Alyssa Webb raced to a school-record time of 48.76 to win the Division V State Championship. The Phoenix not only captured a state title but also etched their names into the Oberlin record books with the fastest 4x100-meter relay in school history.
?? 4x200 Meter Relay State Champions
Oberlin followed that performance with another state title in the 4x200-meter relay. The team of Alyssa Webb, Aubrey Abeyta, Cayman Noble, and Olivia Hudson crossed the finish line first in 1:42.08, securing the second state championship of the weekend for the Phoenix.
4x400 Relay Closes Out the Meet
The 4x400-meter relay team of Aubrey Abeyta, Hailey Petzak, Olivia Hudson, and Cayman Noble concluded the state championships with an eighth-place finish in 4:05.10, adding one more point to Oberlin's total.
As this historic season comes to a close, we would like to recognize and thank our graduating seniors Olivia Hudson, Aubrey Abeyta, Alyssa Webb, Phoebe Shuck, Melody Cyrus, Isadora, Arabella Ortiz, Breanna McConeghy, Collin Boardman, Grant Abeyta, and Alex Perales for their dedication, leadership, and commitment to the Oberlin track and field program.
Aubrey Abeyta will continue her academic and athletic career at Johns Hopkins University, where she will compete in track and field.
Olivia Hudson will continue her academic and athletic career at Miami University, where she will compete in track and field.
Alyssa Webb will continue her academic and athletic career at Oberlin College, where she will compete in track and field.
